When you get tired of cleaning tar and road grime of the sides... you'll come around....
Even my wife's Jaguar has flaps on it, {Factory ones actually look pretty good on this vehicle} and it has a heck of a lot sexier shape than a T/Y and it keeps the bad stuff of the sides of a snow-white vehicle.

Guys, it is a personal preference thing. If you feel that you need them, or like the look of them, install them. If not, move on.

IMO the side profile of the flaps look fine, but I do not like the look when looking directly at the rear of the vehicle, particularly on trims with the dual exhaust. It is truly just an aesthetic thing, as functionally they work great.
