Is it possible to make my AWD Tahoe 4WD? Like a transfer case swap?

Bought this truck not even realizing that some come with AWD only. I love the truck. But I need to be able to go off-road sometimes. Transfer case swap? This sucks. Trying to avoid selling and getting a 4WD version. Thanks for all the feedback.

Why would you want to ditch the AWD? it will off road just as good if not better than the 4wd.
I thought only the Denali's came with AWD?

While AWD is the same thing as 4wd in a sense that all wheels receive power VIA transfer case the Issue with Offroading a AWD vehicle is that it has no LOW range gear I.E 4LO , AWD is like only having 4HI , However I do agree that for mild offroading AWD will do just Fine , Unless your trying to take it through a mud pit or climb some serious rocks 4Lo is not required , but for beach driving , or dirt roads AWD will do fine

I would want to awd my 4wd. I don't go off-reading. And owning a couple of awd cars in the past I love them.

its definatly possible your just going to have to buy the dash control buttons out of the model that came with 4wd the awd xfer case would come off and youd have to buy the 4wd factory replacement xfer case for that vehicle your definatly going to drop the tranny also the electrice shift motor gotta buy one of those
