Is it worth jumping to a 23 Ultimate Denali from 21 Denali?

It's worth considering. The 23 model may be the last one where you're not forced to go electric or hybrid.
Yeah...thats not happening. Nothing wrong with hybrids either if done right like Toyota.

It's physically impossible to meet these EPA/EV requirements. There literally isnt enough production capacity for the number of batteries needed let alone the natural resources and mining capabilities. Dino to continue unless they force vehicle/transportation shortages. There is roughly 15 million units sold each year. No way are we getting even close to 25% of that being EV. MAYBE light hybrid.

Dino to continue unless they force vehicle/transportation shortages. There is roughly 15 million units sold each year. No way are we getting even close to 25% of that being EV. MAYBE light hybrid.
Not to mention no way to meet towing demands right now w/ EV.

Towing with a EV isnt the problem... Range while towing with a EV is the problem...
Its actually a joy to tow with a EV. The Rivian for example can pull a hill like it wasnt even pulling a trailer. Although range falls like no mans business!

For example, Rivian
R1T - 11000lbs capacity
R1S - 7700lbs capacity

Range without a trailer 330ish miles
Range with a trailer 90-130ish miles (depending on weight and aero)

Ford F150 Lightning Capacity, depending on package, 5000-11300lbs
Range without a trailer 230/320ish miles depending on battery package
Range with a trailer 40-90/70-130 miles depending on battery package (depending on weight and aero)

Yes, that is exactly what I mean.

My measure of when range is "good enough" is when I can:
Hook my boat on my rig on Rochester MN
Drive to my favorite fishing hole Just short of Kenora ON
Do it in the same 9 hours I do it now, and get home in the same 9 hours. Which means any "recharge" stops need to match my current re-fuel time to fill a 28gal tank.
And then there is the slight problem that the electricity to run the fishing camp is a 25kW Cat Diesel Generator out back

it is clearly a power density problem in the current batteries used for EV's...
Alas, we are way off target for the OP's question.

TollKeeper can you elaborate on why you wouldn't buy anything Gas GM 2019 and newer? TIA.

V-8's - Lifters, fuel injectors, parts shortages, getting warranty work done in a timely manner
I-4's - LOTS of turbo problems, VVT, Oil comsumption
3.6 v6 - Its just a junk motor, has been since it was introduced in 2005.

There are plenty of threads about the V8 issues on the forums here.
The I6 diesel has been nearly problem free until you hit high miles. But at the cost of Diesel.. That also comes with better fuel mileage.

The only gas engine I know nothing about out of GM is the 2.7 Turbo.

My local dealer has an Onyx black Ultimate that a customer has backed out of. has Super cruise.

I have a 21 Denali with 13k miles, GMC black rims, regular Denali

Offer is 99k and they give me 72,500. Possible GM financing at 3.9 for 60 months.

Any opinions? I was planning on waiting for the refresh but not sure how big a deal that is. I trade every 3 years or so. This would be a year ahead of my normal schedule. Just asking for opinions.

I made a final decision and passed on the Ultimate. Came down to a silly thing. I don't love the wheels. The grill is iffy to me as well. That was my deciding factor.

I plan to wait on the refresh and order a regular Denali with black wheels and the ultimate reserve package. Comes out a few grand under an ultimate. If I dont like the grill or wheels what is the point?

GMC should offer the ultimate wheel in 3 finishes. current Vader chrome, shiny chrome, black. Still the ultimate wheel but 3 different finishes.
