Did you get supplier price ? And how long did you wait? I was able to get pretty close with a work program I qualified for. 4 months for me.
Placed order then 9 weeks, truck came in as ordered at the same price as articulated at time of order.

It wasn't a specific pricing model (like supplier or employee, etc.); rather it was me as a customer negotiating with a dealer on a new vehicle. At the time of order I wasn't to happy with 12% (previous purchase was at 23% off); but the wife was ready for a different vehicle. Now looking back it seems pretty decent when considering today's pricing.

As a whole yes. Mostly trucks. Corvettes, duramax, not really widely available. As well as evs etc.

I agree with your statement. I see "excess" inventory of 1/2 ton gas trucks. Supply for full size SUVs is still not meeting demand but I (crystal ball) think that will change by Q4 of 2023. It'll be interesting to see how EV (cars and not trucks) will play out. GM will probably have to "play the game" with Tesla which is a price war.

I have a deal with a dealer of msrp plus some installed options (LoJack, door guards, tinting, wheel locks, floor liners), many of which I find useful. They are giving me a nice trade in. With the tax break from trade in plus throwing in delivery and pick up of my trade in it ends up being probably around MSRP. At least there’s no “market adjustment” price where I pay for nothing.

Edit: Never mind they actually wanted to drive my new car to my location instead of towing it over. My car would be used by the time it gets to my door.

The most frustrating thing is when I do the shop click and buy thing on the website, I set up everything and submit. and then they come at me with an additional $5000 market adjustment IN ADDITION to the dealer installed package that I was fine paying for. It’s bad enough that there is a market adjustment, but when it’s completely non transparent and thrown in my face…. Hard pass.

I am fine paying a little extra for dealer installed stuff that I could do anyway (paint protection, LoJack, etc). At least it’s tangible and not paying for the air I breathe in. Even though they offered me an excellent trade in, like 4k more than other places, this just ****** me off.

As long as there are filthy rich, price insensitive suckers willing to overpay for a vehicle, this will never change.
