Is there any way to keep seat memory when adding tow mirrors?

Hi all,

I have a 2006 Yukon XL Denali that is about to become our tow vehicle. My wife and I take turns driving on longer trips. (She even has her own pink key fob!) The factory DL8 mirrors (heated, signal, puddle lights, power fold, memory) are admittedly pretty nice, but I'd really like extra height of view that real tow mirrors provide.

I was looking at the GM factory camper mirrors (15904034 and 15904035) and the K-Source KS62075-76G mirrors (RockAuto.com has them for $275!). They both seem to offer the same features: heated, signal, electric adjust.

As far as I can tell, there are NO tow mirrors for the 99-06 that provide puddle lights, power fold, or memory. Is this correct?

I could live without the puddle lights and power fold (begrudgingly), but my understanding is I would lose seat memory along with mirror memory too, and that would be a bummer. And, I haven't found any information on whether the factory camper mirrors have memory or not.

I'll install a set of slide-ons if I need to, but I'd really like to make sure I'm not missing some tow mirror option first.

The tow mirrors I installed on mine are nothin special. I forget exactly which specific ones they are but I think I paid like 150ish for them? Any how i still retained the memory seat/mirror capabilities after I installed them.

Whoah, hang on... so your mirror AND seat positions still change when different key fobs are used??

They look pretty much the same. I know I didn’t pay that much for them though. Same led turns signals and all. I used lense tint to black out the orange lense though.

This thread is three pages of people insisting that memory is not available on ANY tow mirrors (factory or aftermarket), with a link at the end to a pair that claims to... maybe this is what you bought?

Edit: the mirrors referenced are these:

That’s weird bc I never had an issue. Never even thought about it disabling any of that either. I don’t understand why it would. There is no power fold anymore and the bottom mirrors aren’t powered but everything else still works as normal.

Mine is a 2004 z71

Hmmm. The statement from the first page was that none of the tow mirrors (factory or aftermarket) have the position sensors that allow the mirror to know where to go for a memory setting. if it works on yours, that's a big deal and many people would love to know what brand/model you bought!

I found two places selling this mirror, under two different part numbers:

M1Gunner, if you have the orange lenses on the outside, then this is probably what you have, and it's great confirmation that these do have working memory! As far as I can tell, these are the only tow mirrors available for this generation with memory.

You mentioned you got them for less. Do you remember where and how much?

Edit: I can't find any pictures of the front of this mirror. You mentioned LED turn signals, plus an orange lens. Does it have both kinds of turn signals then, orange (front) and LED (rear)?
