Tahoe has always cooled well and sat at just a hair above the 1/4 mark. Today, I added coolant to the reservoir tank while doing spark plugs. Now, the guage goes up and down with acceleration. It isn't really really fast, but probably goes from 1/4 to 1/2 in about 45 seconds then back down if i punch it. Funny enough, this effect is damped and almost disappears once I drive the car for a bit. Im thinking maybe when I added coolant to the reserve tank I somehow got air into the lines? Also, its a shot in the dark, but when I removed the plugs on the intake box side I removed the whole air intake box. Under this box, I noticed the line from the reservoir tank to the radiator was cracked and starting to fray. Could the box have been positioned in a way that was helping this line or could I have knocked the line in such a way to affect its ability to pass coolant? Would these symptoms even happen given a weak line? See picture attached. Any help appreciated in advanced!

I just noticed my temp gauge fluctuates too, not sure why. I'm curious to see why yours does
