I have a 2023 Tahoe with a little over 800 miles on it. Two days ago I was turning onto my street and the vehicle went into neutral by itself. I told myself that I accidentally bumped the neutral button and didn't think anything else about it. Yesterday while at a stop light the headlights turned off and the dash said something along the lines of "Press start to restart vehicle" and wouldn't drive until I did. What could cause this to happen? Thank you for your help.

Hopefully nothing extreme on such a new car. Go to dealer and make sure they have updated your BCM. Hopefully it is something as simple as that.

my 6.2L suburban high country 2023 with 600-700 miles headlights, wipers and dash lights went off for 1 or 2 seconds one evening driving home in the dark rain. Happened so fast was hard for me to get my head wrapped around the situation. Have 1300 miles now and hasn't happened again. Dealership stuck their tester and no codes were thrown, decided not to make any service appointment (they're 2 weeks out) unless happens again. I wiggled all the wires around on top of my battery.

I wonder with the major shortage of the "chips" used in these vehicles if they are accepting lesser quality in order to fill orders? With something like 1400 "chips" in a modern car and each one with hundreds of components, just one substandard capacitor cause a glitch in any system.

Had this happen to me as well about 2 days ago. Any updates as to what causes this?

Well you are basically driving a computer. So anomalies are bound to occur that can't be explained...

Haven't experienced the vehicle going into neutral, but did have a low battery message come up, then had the vehicle 'turn off' and message said "press start to restart vehicle." This happened 2 times. Took it to dealership - they scanned and code 1983 came up. Dealer replaced ECM (Engine Control Module). No issues since. 23 Tahoe Premire. 6300 miles.

Happened again this morning. Made an appointment for Monday to drop my truck off. Based on initial scan, could be a module issue, worse case it’s a transmission issues. Unbelievable. Other than this random issue, haven’t had any issues out of the car.

Have you opened the hood, removed the black-plastic cover off your battery.. and slightly twisted the several large cables with the eye-connectors left-right to verify the factory tightened the nuts/bolts good (on top the eye connectors) ?

My '23 Suburban with 6.2L and 800 miles on the odo had a similar issue driving home in dark and raining, just headlights, wipers and dash (all off) for 2 seconds.

Aforementi0n cable check was suggested to me, I performed and found one of the middle large cables slightly wiggly, so got wrench and I tigheended it.

Dealer ran diagnostics for a day and a half., Test drove it etc. Error codes came back clean, unable to replicate the issue.
