Not to belittle today's travelers, but we did a family of five several times for 10-15 days in a row. Went all over the US more times that I can count, including many of the western states' National Parks. Many thousands of miles each trip.

All in a '62 Impala. Three kids in the back, trunk loaded down with everything including food and a camp stove. May have had a car top carrier. Can't remember right now.

Entertainment was various games like watching license plates to try and get all 50. If you needed to call somebody for something, you looked for a pay phone.

Back in the 60's my Dad had a Chevrolet Corvan. He had fitted it out for travel and camping. We used to count red cars or white cars, check out license plates, or count dead critters alongside the road. I was into collecting the map for each State that we went through. But it was the scenery and towns that really stay in my memory. Much simpler times.

Consider the Google News functionality not working to be a BLESSING rather than an inconvenience!
Yeah, I got it to work. It seems to only function properly when you use the "hey google" feature in the vehicle and say "tell me the news" then the news app loads with information. But you're right, I wasn't missing much.

I don't know how. lol. We had a Pathfinder before and any vacation was like a pack of sardines in that vehicle. I'd drive 12 hours and no be able to see out of my back window which isn't ideal. So much more comfortable in the Tahoe.
