What did your old plugs look like when you replaced them? And odd coloring, carbon/soot build-up?

Old lugs were shot, no odd coloring or anything out of the normal that I saw.
Going to get a fuel guage from Zato zone or buy one at harbor freight

Yes they will. Along with a lot of other things. My plugged cats caused similar symptoms.

Cats, craps one thing I did have to change for it to pass emissions last year was the downside 02 sensor on the passenger side.

Ive heard that a plugged cat would make the exhaust wheez, or sound constricted. Also the exhaust would smell like rotting eggs, that it’s not doing.

It does make a tinny, thunk noise from the back I believe as its cooling down, for instance after a drive and its in the driveway off.

I would have to look at the idle hours on it, would that give any idea if they were or getting plugged?

I never heard any wheezing or constricted sound nor rotten egg smell, actually never heard of that. That sound of the tinny or thunk could be the catalyst cooling and contracting. Mine would run ok after cooling down, then as the cats got hot they would choke and it would throw codes and start running at reduced power. I had a shop check them for restriction.

it will burn off what ever has collected.. as it will raise the temperature to about 800°C+

I was getting p0420 and p0430 code randomly as well as many other random codes..

cause: MAF sensor Very specifically the IAT as this is a combo unit...
as it was noted that the IAT sensor was very lazy and the MAF sensor had questionable readings as well..
according to the Diagnostics manual IAT could enable a P0430 code

fuel trim was hit +32 (that is way out of spec) according to the freeze frame data on a deceleration..

catalytic converter were fine and reporting correct data "moving up and down " getting upto 450-500°C
while the down stream sensors were relatively stable..i have not had any codes did a couple of drive cycles

I hate to tell you but running your engine hard with clogged cats will NOT clear your cats, it will most likely hurt your engine and besides it will go into reduced engine power in order to protect itself. So just stop with that nonsense. Nothing is gonna get burned off your cats. WTH.

Remember that the mythical Hybrid runs at MUCH lower rpm and occasionally they must be run in third to burn the carbon out....

Us mere mortals suffering with NORMAL models must contend with run of the mill problems.
