Has anyone encountered a stripped 'j-nut' fastener used to hold the front or rear gas tank strap? The rear strap mounting bolt came out about half way and now just spins freely in the rear x-member.
Any photos/links/suggestions on how to remove the old or install a new one would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks AtomicHoe094, would like to know if there's a special tool or procedure for removing and installing the j-cage nut from the x-member, or perhaps a link showing how it's done...

Old post but Im having the same issue on my 02 Tahoe. Both of gas tank strap nuts are spinning with bolt. Should have sprayed with penetrating oil prior.

Anybody have any tricks? Cant reach the nut as its inside the frame.
