First time I see this. Been wondering if a sub could go in there. Would like to hear it.

I am not sure if I would like it up in the air covering the window like that. I mean I know it wouldn't be in any sort of line of site but just don't know if I could live with it. I am thinking of fiberglassing a pair of shallow mount subs in that same side. Cut our the outline that's there and cover it with a custom grill. I think it would end up making it look much better.

I googled "tahoe custom enclosure window" and found these:

The last two are from here: http://soundxpression.com/blog/uncategorized/2007-gmc-yukon

I'm interested in these JL Audio TW3 subs...

Right. See, I'm not a fan of sticking subwoofers in the windows like that. What I am thinking is trimming out the plastic indent area where the jack/power lift area is. You can see it in the pictures above. I have access to a CNC router that I could take a digital snapshot of it and convert that to something to make a speaker grill. Then, fiberglass that area into a speaker enclosure. Hopefully the end result would be a functional, and hidden upgraded system. This BOSE setup sucks and is driving me nuts!!!

I like the center console box better. It is better for setting up a good sound stage as well.

I'd love to be able to put the JL sub in my center console but they don't make one for the Denali or Escalade- they both have rear a/c systems and the JL Audio sub doesn't fit with rear hvac.

Well, I differ on this. You can pick up a few free db's by having the subs facing the right direction in the rear of the vehicle. It also will keep from you hearing cone flutter since the sub is so far away.

I've been playing around with some old demo subs I have on the shelf. I think I have the plan of attack ready. Now I just have to get an afternoon to have the time to rip into it. :signs8:
