Check to see if (it probably is/was) the dash is cracked. This seems to be a flaw in the '07+ design of the Tahoe/Yukon trucks. If it is then maybe you could work a deal for replacement value.

Other than that, I would say do a trans filter/fluid change after purchase with Royal Purple fluids. This definitely changed the reaction of my transmission in a positive way.
