I just bought a 98 yukon recently and today the brake line running from front to the rear busted open. Looks rusted pretty good. Brake fluid is leaking out near the fuel filter. How easy/difficult is it to replace this line? Should i take it to a shop? I'm thinking it will probably be best to replace the whole line since the whole thing is rusted.

Not uncommon on any older vehicles, replace the whole thing from as close to the front as you can tie in a new line with compression fittings.

I've read that compression fittings are bad.... Well most people seem to think it's bad to use them. Couldn't i just buy a stretch of brake line and fit a whole new line from front to back?
