dave these trucks take time, money, and patience.
but ya, the 99's had an ABS recall you might wanna look into. i think it had some symptoms like you described.
but ya, for that price and mileage, it's gonna need some work done to it.
mine is a 99 and i bought it with 116k on the clock back in November.
my 4X4 light only works sometimes, my A/C needs to be recharged, my door pins need to be redone, the pull-tab for one of my back benches ripped out, my barn doors don't open right now, i have a wobble at 1/2 throttle load at 70mph, and a weird hesitant starting issue.
my idler+pitman arms, and my catalytic converter had to be repalaced before it'd pass Massachusetts inspection (luckily the dealer was required to do that).
so far i've had to replace the fuel pump and the air intake gasket.
time, paitence, and money.
but i still love the beast! and wouldn't trade it.
