My name is Nolan, and I'm new to the forum, but I had a couple questions for the experts here...
I just bought a 2003 Yukon SLT today, and on the way home I discovered a few problems with it.
1. Cruise Control doesn't work. The indicator light in the dash doesn't come on, nor does it seem to function at all
2. Brake lights intermittently do not work. If you press the brake pedal several times the lights work about every third pump. My hunch is that this is the underlying cause of the Cruise Control problem. Brake light switch?
3. Driver side heated seat only works for a few seconds before turning off. If the passenger side heater is on it will turn off as well when the driver's side is engaged.
4. Strange buzzing noise in the back seat. It appears that this is coming from the little tweeter-looking thing above the middle seats. I'm not sure if this is a speaker or a vent of some kind. It's between the rear AC vents. It sounds almost like a running electric seat motor, but it's coming from that little round grill, be it a speaker or whatever.
I'm pretty frustrated at this point, because this is the first "newer" vehicle I've ever purchased, and for the price I paid I expect everything to work. My Dad has an identical one, and it's flawless. I tried to check everything during the test drive, but it's tough to try everything in a 3 minute cruise.
Should I call the dealer tomorrow and suggest they fix all these problems? What are my options? I purchased it from a Chevrolet dealer.
I'd rather not have to work on this new rig, especially considering every vehicle I've ever owned has been something I had to work on myself frequently.
