Just bought a Pioneer z120bt. Anyone have any advice or input on the install? I bought:

Pioneer z120bt
Pioneer GEX-P920xm
Pac GM29 Harness
Pac SWI-PS Steering Wheel Interface
Scosche CRAB / CRA Antenna Extension

I am also wondering who makes the best looking dash kit for a Tahoe? Scosche, Metra, American International???

Let me know anything you can on the install...I did not order GM29, SWI, or dash kit yet, I am going to do it real soon, so let me know if you think I need to make changes.

Yeah change the SWI-PS to the Axxess ASWC, then the GM29 harness to the PAC OS-4 (cost a bit more than the GM29). That combo will make install a breeze for you.
I got the 4200dvd and I am still waitng for the other things I need to be delivered.
I think I have the American Intl. dash kit, but whichever it is it is the two piece design that looks alot better than the normal one piece bulky one.
Lastly get yourself a parking brake bypass of ebay for video in motion, or just make one yourself. Thats it.:Handshake:

BTW my dash kit looks just like this one Dmerk has

Instead of this one that XJay has

I asked the original poster of the pic where he got it from and he never told me so I hunted it down, ran $20 on some dash kit website.

American International it is then. I found the OS-4 for only a few bucks more so I am going to order the rest of my stuff right now.

You want the ASWC too, the SWI-PS is a pain to wire and program unlike the ASWC which is almost complete plug and play with no programming.

I have the same dash kit as yours Modded the first picture I really like it. Also I need to get the steering wheel controls installed. I would recomend the first kit picture on here. Also I would recomend the screen for this HU because when it starts getting scratched if your girl or passenger has nails the screen will start looking ugly. I got the screen protector of ebay and I cant notice that is there great item.

Anyone know how the factory reverse camera setup works? My Tahoe did not come with the reverse camers, I installed a Yukon rear trim piece w/camera almost 2 years ago. So I have a factory camera, which I cut the factory harness of and reattached all the camera wires to a seperate cable. So I have + and - wires and two wire that attach to an RCA plug.

So my problem is that I need to power the camera, which is only 5volts. I tested everything by wiring it up to a 5v AC adapter. So is there anywhere to get 5 volts from the Tahoe? How does the factory setup get power? If not I am going to have to buy a 5 volt carcharger or something and wire that in.

can't say for the back but under the hood grey wires are usually 5v reference for sensors (usually 3 wire) as for the rear of the truck, maybe the rear parking sensors?
