I just pick up a 99 Gmc yukon denali with only 76k on it. the steering is very loose to the right side, takes about 1/16-1/8 turn of the wheel for it to catch. both the pitman arm and idler arms were replaced a 71k, and previous owner said it got better after those were replaced but is still bad. what could cause this? tie rods? ball joints? also it has factory bose stereo/speakers and when i turn the car off the radio stays on, even if i lock the doors with the remote and headlights go off stereo is still on. I parked the car for about 2 hrs and when i came back it was off. any ideas? I thot that the denali came with heated seats but i cannot find out how to turn them on. wheres the button?

You should have some controls on the side of your seat that look like this. The switch on the far left controls the heated seats. There is one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side to control the seats individually. The controls for the rear heated seats are on the back of the center console.

one other thing i forgot is that the truck runs just a little over 100 deg. I have heard this can make you car get bad gas mileage. thermostat is stuck open correct? what degree thermostat should i get? I am going to be towing a 14 ft trailer in Colorado, if that makes a difference.

On the driver side I have all controls except the heated seats and on passenger side all there is, is the lumbar support. did some come with the heated seats? Mine also did not come with a 3rd row seat. are both of those options?

I don't believe that the 99' Denali had a third row option. My 97' two door GT has cloth seats and similar controls to your setup, but my 99' Denali has leather seats and full controls on both driver and passenger seats as well as heat on the rear seats. I'm not sure if heated seats were only an option on the 99' Denali though, sorry.

Your steering sensor could be bad. sensor is on the intermediate shaft just above the brake pedal .try searching steering sensor there should be a few threads on that topic -good luck with your new truck

I can't speak to your electrical issues, or which temp you should run, but I've got you on your steering. Welcome, BTW. :) Your steering gear box could be an issue. Does it behave the same with the engine not running? If you turn the key to acc, and turn the wheel, does it do the same thing? If it does, your steering gear box is blown. It is as easy to replace as your pitman arm, and will cost you a little, but it isn't bad. I did a write up on how to replace your pitman arm, found in the tech section. Best of luck to you, and again, welcome!!!!

here is a write up on it...
You would be surprised at the Times People change the boxes when it was only the rag joint needed...

I did this on my 99 S10 Xtreme to avid the issue again.

Falming Rivet JOINT.. took out the play ...
