OE thermostat is 195 degrees.

Get a Premium Stant thermostat.

I can't speak to your electrical issues, or which temp you should run, but I've got you on your steering. Welcome, BTW. Your steering gear box could be an issue. Does it behave the same with the engine not running? If you turn the key to acc, and turn the wheel, does it do the same thing? If it does, your steering gear box is blown. It is as easy to replace as your pitman arm, and will cost you a little, but it isn't bad. I did a write up on how to replace your pitman arm, found in the tech section. I checked the steering as u said and with the key is on acc there is a small amount of play but minimal compared to when the engine is running. so it is probably the steering sensor rite? I went to autozone and ordered one for $40 and will be here on tuesday.

drivers side and passenger heated seats should be the first button on the side of the seat where you adjust it. the rear heated seats are by the rear volume control is

In my denali only the rear and passenger seat heated seats work, of course the drivers doesnt , hope its just a loose wire. The radio stays on until you open up the door, if you look towards the hinge area you'll see a black thing for lack of a better word that lets the car know if the doors open. It goes off dont worry. My steering is a little funky to, it tends to jerk which way you turn if your going around a curve. I need to get that sensor but im just lazy.
