Hey folks,
My name is Daniel and I am out of Huntsville, AL. I just got an '07 Yukon Denali about 10 days ago and the Headlights were dull and had condensation inside of them so bad that it blew my passenger low beam bulb. SOOOOOO....LOL after reading a few threads and posts you guys probably know where I am about to go.... My NON:hmmm2: self decided to get on EBAY BEFORE GETTING ON HERE and ordered those cool LOOKING spec-D Tuning Projector headlights. Very Cool looking, BUT they don't fit my darn truck... Not the way they are supposed to anyways.. Bolt holes dont line up, About a one inch gap between the bottom of the headlight housing and bumper. and so on.. I never even bolted them up.. I just packaged them back up before I got too mad. While I was in the middle of installing I was searching web for any tips or tricks as to why they weren't fitting and found a few reviews on that brand and all of them that are similar so I just didn't even try and finish. So fortunately I haven't had the disgust of finding out how bad the lights emit from them. I then decided to try and take my O.E.M. Headlights apart and restore them since I already had it off and now it is in pieces. Only my passenger so far. I got it apart without breaking anything but I do not want to drive my family around in my '98 Mustang GT for too long and would like to know what the best option I have to get some cool looking headlights that actually fit and give me good light while driving. I would read through all of the threads but I am kind of on a time limit and am desperate to know what I need to do so I can go ahead and do it ASAP because my DENALI doesn't have any headlights in it and I need my truck. Please anyone out there HELP me.. Oh and I promise I swear I will never ever ever write a post this long again as long as I am a member of this forum so please don't hold this one against me I am just venting, desperate and pleading for help all at the same time. Anyone with detailed instructions and pictures of a good way to get some kind of LED, Projector, STYLE Headlights that work and will fit I would be very greatful. My factory lights have some kind of black mold spots on the chrome so I dont believe I can use them to make some like I have seen some of you guys talking about in some threads with the "Retro Fit" thing.. I am a noob when it comes to headlights.. Can work on anything else on any vehicle but when it comes to headlights this is my first rodeo so please make any help very detailed explaining what stuff is while telling me what I need.
Thanks to everyone for bearing with my novel,
Sincerely,
Daniel:sorrysign:

If you go with any ebay style projector head light, you will have horrible light output. The beam pattern with those projectors are worse that the stock halogen head lights. The only way to achieve a proper HID projector headlight output would be by retrofitting HID Projectors. If that is not something you are comfortable trying, there are a few companies that will do the complete retrofit for you and send them to you ready to install.

Here's a link to one company that offers the service and have done Denali head lights http://blackflamecustoms.com/gallery/gmc/07-gmc-yukon-denali/

If you don't want to pay for a retrofit, your better off purchasing either a new set of stock OEM or replica head lights. But I highly suggest you stay away from trying any ebay projectors!

I did my own retrofit, I'm happy with the results. After looking at Blackflames work, I would use them if I had to do it again.

Thanks fellas,
I contacted that website about the retrofit. I just sent him an email. But, I may have to buy some replicas until then because I have to have something and I don't know if this Crappy company I bought them ebay craps from is going to give me my money back so I do not really want to spend a crap load of money on O.E.M. But thanks for your guys' input. Do you guys know how much the retrofit usually costs from that guy you referred me to? Thanks again!!!!

I'm not sure how how much they charge. They used to have prices online but I don't see them anymore. I would say at least $600. You can always try searching your local craigslist for a set of oem lights in the meantime.

Yes I had already tried the ebay crap. I'm too late for that warning!! lol But thanks anyways. That is why I made this thread though because after spending nearly 200 bucks on them and having messed up original headlights I needed to get some real answers before I wound up with more in my headlights than my Denali is worth. I had some other mods I could have done with that 200 bucks so I hope I can get a refund for these P.O.S. "Projector-Halo-Junk" Headlights that dont even fit right. lol So I ordered a set of replica headlights from 1A Auto for the meantime and will be sending my original headlights to a retro-fitter soon, Hopefully Black Flame. But thanks for the info. I wish I would have stayed active in the forum when I had my 06 Tahoe LT 4wd and maybe I would have already known about these things. I haven't been around forums since I had my Lincoln Mark V111's!
