got a phenominal price- and it was too good to pass up-- i mean i built a yukon SLT with all my options and said to myself for a few thou more i can get the denali----

i traded in my 2005 yukon which they gave me a fair trade in and i drove her home--- i absolutely love it-- the engine is the best sound.

let me ask people who have them-- should i take off the trailer hitch panel-- it seems as though it would be a item thieves would obvioulsy go for.

all that money and the gas tank doesnt freaking lock- are you kidding me?

anyone recommend a locking gas cap that i can get maybe on ebay or so?

i do like a few guys' look of taking off the roof rack- i may consider that.

on a hilly ride home over about 140 miles i avg 18.5 mpg at about highway speeds, trying not to maintain a specific speed for too long as per ht ebreak in procedures-- whatever.

a few times i was on level grade doing 60 ish and i was cruising at V4 mode!!!

great forum, and love other people's pics and mods--

any questions - feel free to ask..

Nice Denali. :D

You might wanna take off the hitch cover, people seem to love stealing them. Someone already stole the one off my mom's 2010 Escalade.

Don't take off that roof rack though! It adds a lot to the Denali look and yours would look like an ugly regular Yukon trying to be a Denali without it, in my opinion.

I think if you hit a few buttons on the DIC it will display what mode you are in.

On two Tahoes and a regular Yukon you could show the instantaneous MPG and the v4/v8 mode, but I don't think you can on the Denali (At least my 09).

PS - your car is my car's twin

thanks, im only halfway thru the manual- got my garage doors all programmed and slowly working on everyhting else- off for another week and a half so plenty of time.

i think you right, ill leave the rack on

i will take off the hitch cover- its just yelling STEAL ME! no i have to figure out how to take it off.

yes the buttons to the right of the control column cycle thru and you know your instantaneous status of the engine v4 or v8 mode.

absolutely love it--- damn dealer put so much tire dressing on it sllung all over the beautiful paint job, so now i have to go clean it- doh.

NICE!

I think the V4/V8 mode is new for 2010. It isn't on my 2009 Denali XL AWD, but I get around 18-19mpg cruising at 75mph. I have/had it on other cars and it seems to stay mostly in V8 mode during normal driving, unless you are going downhill (in case you are getting great MPG anyways) or on level ground w/o a headwind.

I didn't think of the trailer hitch cover. I might just take mine off anyway since I have a BSU hitch cover that is now not being used.

Locking gas caps can be found at any auto store. I think I bought mine from Checker. If they want the gas bad enough they'll just poke a hole in the tank anyways.

I don't think removing the roof rack would help with mpg anyways since it is slightly less aerodynamic than a brick anyways.

If you take off the hitch cover and/or it gets stolen what would be the difference? LOL

Personally I would keep the cover on since it looks better. There has to be a way you can secure it so no one removes them.

Congrats on your new Denali it looks great!
