I just recently hit 160,000 miles on my 2007 yukon and I know I need to change some parts but I need some enlightenment as to what I need to pay attention to that should be giving me problems. My front driver side wheel is making a constant squeek when I am driving and the shop says its a rock and if I drive back and forth several times itll fix itself.. needless to say that didnt work so what is routinely replaced in that area after this many miles?

Basic fluid changes. Tune up. Brakes.

It all depends on what has already been done. Rely on visual inspection rather than parts shotgunning

well i didnt want to just randomly buy parts and put them on, i was just curious as to what normally starts to wear down at that many miles. ill look into my brakes, i dont think they have ever been changed. i dont have a clue what that noise could be. it sounds terrible. haha

Nice lookin Yuk, good to see you're not afraid to get it a little dirty :)
Throw some more pics up of it.

If the shop knew it was a rock, they should've removed it, not told you how to "try" to remove it. Sounds like they didn't really have a clue on what it really was.

How long have you owned it?

That's a cool guide NovelX, thanks for sharing.

My family has owned it since 2009 and its an 07. My dad bought it from a person he works with and it was his company vehicle. He lived in louisiana and worked out of texas and oklahoma. So after 2 years it had 110k miles. I am just trying to make sure everything works correctlu because I love it. And I felt the same way about the shop. Ill go to another place to have it looked at this week.

That's cool, if you know the maintenance schedule of the previous owner and your dad kept it up. I'd follow along with that.
If not, start your own with a notebook and do a complete tune-up.
Keep track of everything by date, miles and what was completed.
Be aware of typical problems they have and put aside a nice chunk of change every now and then. I think the biggest known problem is the DOD aka Displacement On Demand or Active Fuel Management aka AFM. If you feel a slight hiccup at idle or it starts throwing codes for a misfire, it is more than likely the DOD/AFM. Lifters fail and they typically consume a large amount of oil.
Its kind of a hit or miss though, not everyone experiences these symptoms.
Just be aware :)
Good luck and don't forget those pics.

Shit, thats barely broke in. I bought my last one with 160k on it.

As usual, just go through and give everything a good visual and try moving stuff around by hand. Jack it up and check the bjs and wheel bearings regularly, cv shafts if you're 4wd. Replace all fluids on a regular basis (diffs and transfercase usually get ignored. Mine were much quieter when they got a fresh dose of full syn). Lifetime fill diffs are really only good for about 100k IMO.
