Luke, you could have a bad Instrument Panel according to your codes or an ECM on its way out. Make sure your battery is healthy before spending money on anything else, a weak battery can cause all kinds of mischief with the electrical system. Check your battery cables and grounds too. A Tech2 would be a good friend to have right now, it will help you to quickly and inexpensively diagnose your truck without wasting time and throwing parts at it.

I took the dash apart, the gauge cluster was loose. No screws in it at all. Jiggled the connector and the lights came on. Put di-electric grease on the connection and put some screws in it.

Also noticed the brake lights don't come on everytime I hit the brakes. So guess I'm getting a new switch today.

I agree it might be a bad cluster still because the temp gauge still dosent work.

missing screws huh? sounds fishy. someones been in there before. that plug on the back should have a push clip on it to hold it tight.

if the whole base is moving with the plug and its flashing on and off, it might be new cluster time. or maybe you can open it up and solder whats broken. and this is the cause of the cel bulb light code. the pcm is not seeing the cel light full time, so it sets that code to let you know its not working.

only part of a cluster swap that sucks is thats where the miles on the car are stored, no where else, so a replacement will show the other cars miles unless you have the miles reset to yours, not sure if a tech 2 can do it, a dealership should be able to do it. but i know the cluster repair guys on ebay can swap the miles. they make you fill out a odometer dis calmer form if you need to adjust the miles.

lmao! its for tuning, i still do canned tunes for 3800 engines, and sometimes if im selling a pcm thats a spare on hand i need to change the vin# for them so they pass inspection, for some reason i cant change a 2000 up vin.
