Hello,
New here. I am trying to 'learn' how to do all the things this vehicle can offer. Slow process but I am getting there. Everything seems to work fine except when I insert a USB flash drive that has music on it the vehicle does not recognize it's there????

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I can search for in settings or whatever? I'd like to be able to figure it out without having to bother the dealership.....again.

thanks

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

Did you format the USB stick drive with FAT32 and not NTFS? This is a common error in formatting, and NTFS won't be compatible with your head unit.

Welcome from Florida!

Can’t help you with USB stick but the apple/android carplay is how I listen to music in my Tahoe. Maybe you can import to phone and listen that way?

Any way, good luck with your new rig!

thanks. My usb/flash stick is what I have used in other vehicles with no problem. It is Fat32. Someone on this forum, maybe?, questioned whether the Google Asst. may be causing the interference? But I have seen no response or remedy to that......if this is the place I saw it????

You're doing things the hard way. Just use Apple CarPlay with your iPhone.

I had the same problem with my 2021 Tahoe and discovered that it only recognizes .mp3 files, and not .wma files.

I live in an area without cell service. My wife or I go into a cell coverage area maybe once or twice a week. Cell phones don't really do us much good.
I've been trying to find more information on using a Flash Drive for our new 2024 Tahoe. Even the sales person had trouble with it. He and I hacked through the system and were able to get it to play, but it would repeat the same song over and over. Sometimes it would play a different song if it was from the same album. It was something in the settings controls that got us that far. It was kind of a surprise that it started playing music for the sales person.
The Flash Drive was used in my 2021 Silverado. It uses folders to file different play lists. Funny, this was learned from another customer, people at the dealership didn't have any idea.
So far with the Flash Drive I have found it works by copying the music files to the drive without any folders. This seems to work enough to make SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) happy.
Pressing the icon on the screen that looks like a shuffle button seems to cause the same song to be repeated forever.
There is also a message on the screen that says there is no USB device detected while the music on the Flash Drive is playing.
From reading other comments, it makes me wonder if the Google screen might have something to do with it. Our maps and such do not work since we do not have a data plan. This car is new to us, but it came with almost 30,000 miles on it.
