Pretty slick fit. Could also be used as a canter console/cup holder. Have you thought about affixing some type of factory looking cup holder to the top or front of it? If I'm not mistaken @Fosscore has s Thunder MTX(?)box in place of his front center console, replacing his jump seat, and he took off the stock cup holders and screwed them to the front of his sub box. Looks pretty good. Please Fosscore correct me if I'm wrong.

I was actually considering making a cut out for a drop in cup holder but didn't want to loose air space in the box and also figured it would be more work/aggravation for the dude building the box. Something off the front might not be bad though.

I figure attatch something on top instead of inset. Dont mess with the air space or integrity of the box.

I agree.... but it would look good to have something inset that looks like it came from the factory that way. I pondered the idea of inserting this in the top to match the front...

But it will probably never happen.

Wouldnt the drinks spill when it hit....

And damn.... that semi had to hurt... sorry ken

No open cups for kids in the Burb... but you are right it could be a problem.

Yeah.... I do not recommend trying it.... it is no fun and the effects from it are far reaching and long lasting.

It will happen if you make it happen.
Edit: I just read the post about your bike accident- what kind of injuries did you suffer? I've been off work for 7 months now due to shoulder injuries from mine.

In all honesty this is the first speaker box I have ever bought instead of building it myself.

I bought it for a few reasons.

A. I am getting lazy in my old age.

B. I am out of work do to being hit by a semi while on my motorcycle coming home from work and I am not physically able to do a lot of the things I am used to doing myself.

C. The box was originally $100 + $46 shipping... there was a 15% coupon on EBay and after doing the math for materials it just wasn't worth my time.

Actually It came out even cheaper because the guy doesn't market this box for Suburbans, only Tahoes, so after talking with him he modified the box for me. It came in and the drop down ends didn't fit properly in the Suburban so I had to notch it. I sent him pics with specs to make it fit right and he is sending me $50 back for doing the R&D for him.

Win win in my book.

Sounds like a stand-up guy.
