I think it's the Power and the Ground that I would like to see. Like I said, I'm not too savvy on the electrical work, especially in a vehicle. I can change a light switch or a plug in a house, but past that....

You need a tilt switch... something like this...

Attach switch to hold securely so that it doesn't bounce around and cause your light to come on with the hood down.

One side of the switch goes to the positive lead of your new underhood light. The other side goes to the power coming out of the fuse tap/fuse box.

Get a fuse tap like this...


Tap into the underhood fuse box here...


Fuse number 37 front wipers 25A.

Ground to just about any bolt under the hood.

I will use the tilt switch instead of their switch. So, I determine which is the ground and which is the power coming off the end of the light string, and then ground the ground wire to the engine, and plug the power to the tilt switch, which is itself plugged to the fuse tap, correct?

Caught all up , nice work on the sequentials . Need diagram in crayon or something and link for them unless I missed that. I went from 60smd type 1 switchbacks to now jdmastar type 2 switchbacks and love the light pattern waaaayyy more. The ones I got were listed on jdmastars eBay page for $30 (or best offer) on eBay, threw them an offer of $25 a pair for 2 pairs and saved $10.

Hood light is such a nice upgrade for our trucks, even tho gm and all other manufactures cheap out on that part. For my hood light it's the simplest install but nobody uses it for some reason lol. I just grounded to a security/alarm adjustable hood pin. Then straight power to battery with inline 20a fuse. Led cob strip about 6" long.

The JDMastar bulbs are the ones I have had my eye on... those will be the ones I go with when I finally pull the trigger.

They seem to work pretty well. Just a heads up though.... they don't come potted or sealed so I would strongly suggest sealing them with something before installing to prevent water getting to the electronics inside.

Wiring is straight forward.

Power from turn signal to 12v input on module.
Ground to ground input.

Module has 4 wires coming out...
Flash one, flash two, flash three, and ground.
Hook them up to the bulbs you want to flash, in the order you want them to flash.

I thought about the pin switch but already had a tilt switch from my old box body S-10 blazer so that's what I used.

The ones I have in there now are basically identical to the JDMastars the just are a type 1 LED. But as far as the color match goes it is spot on.

This pic was when I still had my 8K HIDs in the low beams...

I have since swapped the low beams for the Supernova V3 LED headlights so they all match except for the high beam... haven't figured out what I want there yet.

Low beam, parking lights, projector fogs all LED.

I wish money wasn't so tight right now... I have so many ideas/plans and NO extra fundage for the cool.

Ever thought about doing 3rd lights as a side job or setting up switchbacks for people? Like getting a package together and making a diagram for install purposes? Just thoughts, I'd love to have a esky 3rd with some kind of chaser

Haven't really given it much thought honestly.... there used to be a couple of guys on here that modded the Esky 3rd brake lights.

Now you can buy a full width Esky 3rd off EBay for pretty cheap. It is a lot of work to open them and modify them which is why it cost so much to have it done... time is money as they say... lol

Not sure how good the ones on EBay are.. never seen one in person.
