i am more confused than ever i was thanking my lucky stars i hadnt wrecked my "knock sensors"??? so i use a pressure washer on my engine all the time, am i playing with fire?

As an Army Helicopter mechanic we always used to use simple green to clean the hydraulic deck for the ultimate clean until the DOD put out a message against using simple green for washes.

Actually, DOD put a stop to using Simple Green because it broke down the oil/grease enough that it would bypass the 'oil seperators' in the drainage system and various organizations were suing the military over the amount of stuff we were releaseing back into the water systems/sewage.

We used to use the stuff on our M1s and M3s as well...

While I cant comment on the corrosion stuff it was not the factor that lead the DOD to stop it's use.
