I know I'm probably late but my key fob battery is dying and I found the charging unit in my armrest cubbyhole.

I don't think it's a charging unit. It's just close to the sensor so that it gets recognized when the battery is low.

Edit:
Section 2-15 of the 2015 owners manual.....It doesn't charge the fob, just used to reprogram and work when the battery is too low for the vehicle to detect the fob.
I'm going to have to read the owner's manual again. Ahh ok I thought it was charger for the key fob because that's how it showed on my speedometer screen its an key fob charger in my 2016 Denali.
I don’t think there are 2032 rechargeable batteries?.
