key/ remote questions

i recently purchased my 07 yukon and the dealer i bought it from only gave me 1 set of keys/remote. soo im looking for the instructions on how to program the remote if i purchase one. Also i wasnt sure if those keys were anything special because i can get an uncut key for a lot chaper than what the dealer wants and get it cut but i wasnt sure if it had a chip or anything in it that would force me to go back to the dealer. thanks in advance for any help

The key itself does need its own program before you can use it, so doing it at the dealer might be your best bet. But if I remember right, to program it yourself, you need to put it in and cycle to the ignition position but without actually starting the engine, 3 separate times, 10 minutes apart each.

As for the key fob, you just use the buttons by the air vent to control the DIC until you find "Relearn Remote Key", and once you enter that mode, just hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the fob until you hear the car beep or chime. Then it will be programmed.

ill look into the key programmin then i heard that was the easy part, but to program a remote your saying stick it up near the AC vent and hit buttons on it until the truck goes into relearn remote key on the cluster? and then just hold down unlock and lock at the same time and it will program it? also will my other remote still work?

You don't stick the fob anywhere...you just use the DIC buttons to get to programming mode. These are located on the same panel as the AC vents and consist of 4 buttons. One of them will be a Settings button, hit it until you see "RELEARN REMOTE KEY" on the screen located on your gauge cluster. Then hit the check-mark button.

I got this key from ebay

the cut it for $5 at local shop, then cycle it to the ignition position one time and that's it.
by the way seller will send you a note how to do it.

for the remote it will take 2 sec from you to do it, make sure you program all your remote at once, also the seller will send you how to do note. I have program like 5 remote for my car so far lol
