Keyless Entry Question - 1997 Yukon SLE

I bought a stock keyless entry keyfob and got it programmed just fine. Works great. However, the parking lights dont blink when locking/unlocking. Does that not happen on my year of truck?

Sorry. I was wrong I was thinking of a suv that had a factory alarm. The 1997 yukon and Tahoe do nothing but activate the locks and interior lights. The unlocked the dome lights should stay on for 40 seconds unless the ignition key is on first. And when locked they should stay on for 2 seconds when locked and all doors are closed.
