No i dont have new shocks in. The ride is pretty rough so i moved them to the top of my "list" I will be getting them pretty soon. You can live without them but it gets old

If you do replace the shocks however, the ride will not be so rough. Pro-Comps are good for this and the Bilstein 5100's are better.

The reason i am doing the keys and 1 or 1.5 inch spacers is because i have 17x9 wheels with like 4.5 inches of backspacing and to give it the lifted look. i would like to do new shocks with the lift but don't have the funding right now but was just checking to see if i can wait.

Take a stack of washers and put on the top of the shock. You lift the front and 1" add an inch of washers. It will give you your 1" of suspension travel back and is a cheap alternative to new shocks. Since the top stud is 2" longer than needed the washers cause no issue. Did it on a couple 3/4 tons and half tons with no issue.

Well I have done it several times. As you raise the front you move the shock shaft further up the body. Take the washers and it will offset the amount you lose lifting it. Go buy the $2 in washers and try it. Once you get out from behind the keyboard and look and what I'm talking about you will understand. It is hard to visualize. Once you see it and try it you will like it.
