L92 cam sensor question

One more question...I have a trip that has to happen tomorrow. Funny enough the cel is off and it seems fine but what's the possibility of this thing grenading if it looses timing or something weird with vvt/cam sensor?

Also when we did the trans the battery was completely dead and had been for a couple months. Could I be stuck in some weird relearn procedure?

Nothing crazy over the last couple year's just normal maintenance. Fluids, wheel bearing/hub, new trans, etc. We are currently about 150 miles into our trip today with no cel or anything goofy going on. I took a look for vvt hardware it's pretty hard to see down there but best I can tell there is only a coolant sensor by the water pump and nothing else

Here is a video that shows you what is behind the water pump on a 2007 6.2L with VVT. One point of note, the VVT actuator valve that holds the VVT phaser is a Torque to Yield bolt and should not be reused like they did in the video.
