2016 Chevy Tahoe LTZ with 900 miles on the odometer. I noticed over the last few days that the Lane Keep Assist feature just flat out stopped working. The switch indicator to the left of the steering wheel shows the feature as on (amber light) and when I start the truck the LKA icon shows on the dash panel and goes out like always but while driving I don't actually ever feel the keep assist activate nor do I see the guide on the heads up display. I tried cleaning the windshield per the Owners Manual recommendation and I also had On-Star run a diagnostic and they found nothing.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and/or have any ideas before I take this thing into the dealer?

Thanks!!

My guess--
One of the driver's seat "thumpers" has shorted out.
I had the same problem.
This is a known problem. The real question--If this is a known problem, why did they replace only one of the thumpers in my 2015 Tahoe?

Check for a disconnected plug beneath the drivers seat. This happened on my 2016 Yukon.

Is Lka use with Curise control?

LKA is a stand alone feature. It can sense the markers in a lane and gently nudge the vehicle back into its one lane if it detects you're about to depart your chosen lane. There are YouTube vids showing guys driving down the highway completely hands free with LKA turned on. I personally am not a huge fan of the feature but with less than 1000 miles on the clock it should be working.

Thanks for the advice everyone. No loose wires under the seat and the seat vibration feels the same but I'm going with a failed "thumper".... I have 45% tint on the front windshield. Not sure how that could effect the performance of the LKA since the job was done around the camera box behind the rear view mirror and the system worked AFTER the tint was put on but I'm thinking I'll have it peeled just to avoid any possibility of a warranty claim.

I'll probably get it into the dealership on Wednesday and I'll report back what they find out.

I am having the exact issue as OP. Was working for 600 Kms and just stopped. Symptoms are as you had described. The right thumpers don't seem to work. I have been noticing that back up assist only vibrates on the left.

I also scanned for codes trying to see it anything set. I got
2 Engine Control Module Trouble Codes: P1553 and P15F6 both in history. These are adaptive cruise messages though as described in TechLink http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?p=5334

I have looked at the wiring under the seat this evening. Wow. Tons of loosely tied wires hanging where they aren't supposed to be like in the track and on moving components. I couldn't find any disconnected, however I suspect that one of the wires that was pinched inside the right track might be the culprit. I am taking her to the dealer to have it looked at on Friday. Let me know what they find on yours.

Update on my LKA issue. The dealership kept the truck two days. The end result was that the camera stopped working. I was told they did a re-calibration of the camera, tested all the systems, and everything is good to go.

They never questioned me about the windshield tint job ( I decided not to do the the peel off) and they said everything was covered under warranty.

Dealer told me the same. Camera issue. They reinitialized it and test drove it with scanner for almost 80 kms. Ticked me off a bit that it was so many miles. They showed me the scan that the camera was intermittently dropping out. At first they thought it was a connection issue. However they are replacing the whole camera unit. Hope that will reslove it.

I have the option for audio alert, but doesn't seem to beep?

My FCA system doesn't seem to work at all. I have post about it.

I am having the same issue with the LKA not working after about 2000 miles on the vehicle. I searched this forum and found that this is a problem so then I called Chevrolet customer service and was told there was no TSB regarding this issue. I took the Tahoe in to the dealer and told them that it was probably the camera. They called me after three days to tell me that the issue was the camera and they were ordering a new camera module ( after consulting with "technical support" at Chevrolet). I'll try to get all the pertinent info. and share it here so no one else has to wait three days for their dealer to diagnose the problem and who knows how long to fix it.
