Depends what aspect ratio you got with 285’s. The width isnt the issue. 305/45’s fit with no rubbing…but some of the 285’s get quite tall.
What wheel and offset with 305/45? Looking at 9.5 wide in +20 and concerned about the setup rubbing.

Z,

I ran a 285 50 22 with the factory wheel no issues what so ever.

I’m currently running a 295 50 22 with 20 off set, it has the air suspension and when in the lowered position and hard turn it does have a very slight rub, I mean every once in while depending on incline.

Wheel is 9.5 “

Both tires were NITTO RIDGE GRAPPLERS

2022 Tahoe had the factory wheels, 2023 Tahoe the non factory wheels.

Hope that helps,
Hi Juan, your 295/50 R 22's are 33.66 overall diameter and 12.17 wide...wheel is at 9.5"...for the offset at 20...is this a positive offset or negative? Also did you have to trim the front and rear fender liner and remove the metal bumper bracket for this to fit with no rub? Or are you saying there was only a slight rub at full turn with zero triming done? Curious what the tallest size off road type tire could fit with a 22" rim too!

…again, the rim diameter has nothing to do with the equation as far as overall diameter fitment goes.

Maybe not directly but the tire sizes you would have gotten in a 20" wheel are not available in the same size in a 22" rim Fot example I'm only interested in toyo and nitto tires and what they have in a 34.33 and 34.5 in 20" rim is not available in a 22" wheel...the actual tire, overall sizes are smaller. Also the wheel offset matters whether it will fit correct? I've got my eyes on some vossen two tone wheels that are 9.5" wide but not sure if they would fit the car in a 295/50R22 without any lift.

They have some sizes that are very close, like the 285/55 and the 295/55

Oh not sure which toyo one you listed but I'm looking at the open country MT's and those start at 295/55R 22 and are exactly 35" in diameter and 12.2" wide..so these won't fit without a lift.

Ahh, those were the recon grapplers. If you want an mt, Nittos mt has a 285/55 at 34.5x12. But any tire that size your looking at will require some type of small lift and trimming most likely.
