Hi all,

New to the forum. I've heard good things from LS1Tech and Camaro5 where i have been active for many years and i am excited to join you all! I own a 2011 Suburban LTZ 4WD 5.3L. After doing an oil change last week i was inspecting the rest of the underside of the truck when i noticed the transfer case looked a little wet and dirty ;)

Upon further inspection i realized i had not noticed small quarter sized stains in the driveway accumulating for who knows how long. I cleaned up the transfer case with some parts cleaner, drove the truck for a day or so and then re-inspected. What i believe i have found is a small leak coming from the connection between the transmission and the transfer case. Appears to be affectionately refereed to as the Front Transfer Case Gasket.

I understand pump rub is known issue on GM Trucks. I don't think this is the case for 2 reasons. First, the fluid is red like ATF not blue like Autotrak II Transfer Case Fluid. Secondly the leak appears to be generating above and before the transfer case then trickling down the front side of the case.

Anyone deal with similar leaks and resolve successfully? Is this a case of bolts backing off and just needing to be re-torqued? My biggest concern is the possibility of some problem lurking deeper in the transmission. I should also clarify that i have not experienced any unusual transmission behavior. Truck still runs and drives like new. I'd love to get some feedback from the group.

(Also in the driveway 2015 Camaro 2SS, 2011 Chevrolet Cruze)

Sorry for accidentally attaching same picture multiple times.
Also forgot to mention 50,000 miles on the truck.

Magna transfer cases are not known for "pump rub" issues like the older ones AFAIK. Check your transmission fluid level to see of the seal between the two has failed. Both run Dex VI.

Good to know the pump rub is ruled out 100%.

I checked the fluid the other day and it was well within the hatch lines on level ground when hot.
