I pulled into the gas station today and filled up my 03 Tahoe. I squeezed in another buck or so after it stopped and then I heard and saw a bunch of gas leaking out from under the vehicle. Took at least 10 minutes for it to stop. It’s clearly coming from somewhere above the tank. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

the locking ring that holds the pump in tends to rot out if you live in a salt area. you should be able to get a hand up there and feel around.

It's advised not to keep filling after the automatic fuel shutoff on the pump. Pumping more gas in can saturate the evap components and ruin them, causing an emissions issue (codes, check engine light, etc.)

But you likely have a different type of leak -- get under there and check it out.
