Question: Do these rear MagneRide shocks look like they need to be replaced? How can I tell if they need to be replaced?

(See attached - Currently have 44k miles on them) Notice the fluid leaking - is this a normal amount or more than usual? I found a few sources that acted like this isn't an unusual amount, so I figured someone here might know what is up.

Details:
I've got a 2018 GMC Yukon Denali with 44K miles - Z95 MagneRide and 22" rims.

I just replaced the FRONT MagneRide struts/shocks with the same AC/Delco MagneRide shocks as it had (GM 84977478) since it drove like a brick. This seems to have solved the driving-like-a-brick issue. (It seems crazy to me that shocks can blow out before 45k miles on a mall crawler that has never been off pavement but whatever)

I'm not sure if these rear Magnerides need to be replaced or not given that the car drives a lot nicer now. When asked, my local Cheverolet dealership didn't seemed concerned but said they could replace them if I wanted. If they do need to be replaced, I would prefer to replace them myself and save $1200 in labor now rather than later due to the weather where I live, but I digress.

Those look pretty bad. $1200 in labor?! Wow I just replaced both rears on my 2015 and it took me less than 2hrs. Definately an easy DIY job.

If it was me I’d clean them off really good and then inspect later to see if there really is a leak. But to me I’d wager they need replaced.

They are dirty for sure, and need to be cleaned and re-inspected, as @ReaperHWK stated above. I do not see any signs of leakage at the bottom, which I should see if there is leakage, due to the position that the shocks are mounted (piston facing toward the ground), so you 'might' be OK.
