I have no idea about the backup lights, but was thinking about getting some if I like them in the DRL's, so let us know what you find out.

Right now I'm also waiting on the same ones mentioned above.

Looking to upgrade to LED Backups..

2003 Tahoe 3157 Bulb.

Anyone know if we have a CK socket or Standard?

Also.. Anyone running these?

DO they spring open like a toggle bolt? If so - how do you get them out?

Whats the difference in all of these??

Standard socket, and the bottom lights are not very bright at all. I put them in my Lincoln with 20% on the rear windows and can't see them at all. Spend the money on the $80 one if you want bright. Also I've wondered about how those fanned lights work too.

Ok, so I'm officially not recommending the V-leds 7w high-output LED bulbs. I had them in DRL's and 6 months later they are both toast. They should last forever, being LEDs. Or somewhere close to it. And for $80/pair, 6 months is not nearly long enough to justify a cleaner look.

The issues people have had with bulbs in the DRLs have been well documented enough not to even try to put LEDs in there. even the stock bulbs have a hard time lasting with GMs infamous voltage issues with them.

I've had mine in for almost a year and no problems except for one came loose of the socket. I got the 6000k cone shaped ones from ebay.
