LED Headlight bulbs?

Just a question, I have seen these bulbs popping up on eBay they are replacement headlight bulbs, being marketed as the "new" HID replacements...

Supposedly high power, but no startup time...

They even have fans and such on the back...

Has anyone used them?

Any feedback?

I tried them. You have to have projectors or you won't have any light besides glare. They weren't as bright as my 55w HID's in my Depo projectors so I took them back out after one day. They did start up fast and most people would be happy with them if they're used to 35w HID's with properly aimed lenses.

Stay away from Cree led bulbs. They won't emit much light. There are some good ones out there. You still get what you pay for so if they are under 100 don't expect much.

Take a look at these LED bulbs.

Pay attention to the sites claims of 2200 lumens, then look at the operating voltage of the bulbs.
2200 lumens at 12volts my ass.
If those bulbs truly produce 2200 lumens its at the max rating of 32 volts.
You will be lucky to get 1000 lumens at MOST with a 12 volt system.
2200lumens out of halogen bucket would glare so hard it would be stupid! Oncoming traffic would literally nuke anyone with lights that bright.
Stay with HID's, get high end ballast and bulbs and your warm up time is very very short.
and I dont mean ANY ebay ballasts. get the mori's from retrofit source.

There's no way led bulbs can keep up with a proper retrofit hid setup.

I had some in my 2013 Super Duty and now I wish I would have taken pictures. They were not as bright as my HID's but they were still awesome with a tinted shield. All I had to do was plug them in. No ballast/wiring BS so if they ended up having trouble it narrowed down troubleshooting. But I never did have trouble, and never had "warm up" time. I purchased them for $185 from through a trusted parts dealer. Wouldn't suggest cheap eBay ones if you go that route.

I use this type with the fan on the back and a ballast for my fog lights. They are awesome for secondary light but I'd never replace my primary low beams for em thats for sure.

In a few more years with some advancements they'll be a viable replacement but with current technology they aren't worth a damn.
To the guy that said 2200 lumens on 12 volts... they have a ballast, it's more like 20,000 volts or something like that.
