Re: my 2000 Z71 OBS...

Wanting to just go ahead and replace everything in the rear housings. I've always wanted super bright backup lights, and had a turn signal go out the other day, so figured I'd just update everything.

I think the reverse lights I'm OK on - just Tim Taylor it up and get the brightest ones with good reviews.

But the turn signal bulbs are super confusing. I got the bulb number to do the conversion, but
  1. All the ads say I have to figure out if I have "CK" sockets, and I haven't seen a model year guide. Do I have CK or standard?
  2. Some ads say I have to wire in resistors and some don't? Does that mean that some have the resistors built in and some don't? or the ones that don't just won't work right? Are there any with them built in to the base or something?
In fact - does anyone have any specific links to any that have worked for them out of the box? There are about 100 listings on Amazon alone - most with maybe one review - presumably by the vendor.

Thanks for looking!

the bulb number should be all you need but it might be asking if you have round bulb sockets or the wedge looking ones. if you do not use a solid state led compatible flasher you will need to wire in ballasts on the tail turn/brake lights for proper operation. front ones to for that matter.

From superbrightleds.com, "most are conventional/standard sockets"

it was just a guess what the other sites meant. just follow the application guide from super bright and you should be fine. i know the mains in front are dual filament round sockets. the side marker are the 194 wedge socket. and i think the rears are wedge also but with a plastic base.
