Is the 2006 AWD like the Yukon Denali?

The 06 is AWD, but has a different transfer case than the AWD Yukon Denali. The Yukon Denali is AWD but the t-case is open, while mine has the viscous coupler t-case.

I’ve heard that the vicious coupler t case is better than the open t case in the Yukon Denali.
