Fabtech 6" lift. Just got back from adding 2" coil spacers and 2" wheel spacers. It finally sits perfect all around. Just need an alignment and driveline spacer to kill the vibrations. side.jpg 1oclock.jpg

I like the 2" coil and wheel spacer. The track width even up now? What vibrations are you getting? Oh and give that hoe a bath!

Haha, I know. Gross right? I was gonna do it yesterday but the driveline vibrations were bugging me and wanted to look it up.

Anyway, the track width is perfect now, however the axle is now off center by 3/4" an inch too. I'm gonna call Spohn after memorial day and see if they can ship me an adjustable panhard bar by next Monday before my alignment appointment.

Also, all that lift in the back pulled the yoke out about 3/4" that I THINK is giving me vibrations upon deceleration on the highway. I'm taking a wild guess that a $26 3/4" driveline spacer will push it back in and supposedly cure this.

Other than that, my tires look a little toed out, I have caster/bump-steer problems, and my steering wheel is crooked now. I checked the tie-rods and they're still locked and marked where they were when it was installed so it has to be the rear lift/axle combo. It still tracks straight but everything else sucks. Too bad 4wheelsharts won't honor a free alignment because I messed with the height.

Yeah clean it up! Still love how deep those wheels look for width.

That might be it or the front shaft needs a dual cardan joint. Let me know how that works out. My fabtech rear kit gave me some vibrations so I ended up making a new shaft with dual cardan.

Get that adjustable bar and center it up. Go with regular bushings and grease the hell out of them. Post some pics of it once installed.

Yeah some are lame but my local one is pretty decent. I use them when I don't have time to do my own work.

The wheels are definitely my favorite purchase. I almost went with $2400 Fuel Mavericks and was afraid these would look too shallow with the -6 offset. I dislike most of Procomp stuff because they're always in the "safety zone" when it comes to sizes, but they really hit it out of the park with these. Another thing, I like the bulge the narrower size gives the 35s.

Double carden - had to look that up. Sounds expensive! I think I'll cheapout here and pretend I never heard of the option, unless the $26 solution doesn't work. Everything was fine on the highway before the 1-2" lift in the back though.

I only saw the "del-sphere" option at first and I agree I'd only do that on a lowered street car/truck will all the bushings replaced the same.

I'll update again once I get the Panhard in, with pics of course!

Spoke too soon about the driveshaft spacer. Doesn't exist for late model GMs. I was going by 4WP website which incorrectly gives you part #s for my year/make/model.

01 Konvict, how much did you pay for the dual cardan joint? How long did it take? And finally, did you price that over just lengthening the driveshaft?

Thanks

I did lengthen the rear at first but didn't fix my issue so I built a all new shaft. The longer tube was a couple hundred at local shaft shop and only took a day. The dual cardan was $400 and you have to roll the axle up to zero the angle between diff and shaft. So that means I had to buy new upper trailing arms from zone that are adjustable.

Huh. I just realized I'm not even entirely sure if the vibration is coming from the front or back yet. I don't do much highway driving and I only noticed it when the radio happened to be off. It's hard to localize with loud tires. I think I'll wait until after the alignment and see what 4wp thinks then take it to a driveline shop. In the meantime I ordered the Spohn panhard last night and it's a race to see if it gets here before then. I'm sure it will be fine either way. Install looks easy - Two bolts and you can do everything without a lift (since it's so tall). I'll adjust it, drive it a 1/2 mile or so then recheck and readjust as necessary.

Looks so much better cleaned up! As far as exterior mods I would remove door moldings and lower valance. Maybe swap handles and mirror caps for black ones.

I have bushwacker pocket flares arriving on Wednesday and have a blackout grille, mirror covers and door handle covers (yes, covers) in my ebay cart but still haven't pulled the trigger over concerns of quality. I'll peel the molding off when everything else is on.

And call me crazy but I like the air dam for some reason. If it was a different color than maybe it would be a different story. I will tint the fogs yellow as the finishing touch.
