Leveling kit question - help needed

Hey guys. I installed a 2.5" front and 1.5" rear leveling kit I got off ebay. The guys on GM Talk and Silverado/Sierra seemed to like this kit and the quality and price was right.

However now that I have had a chance to measure the vehicle it did not level the vehicle at all, it essentially just lifted it. I noticed the rake still when photographing the vehicle and initially thought it was because of the driveway slope.

The rear coil spacers appear to be about 2.25" (to 2.5") inch solid blocks (not counting the upper nipple). Total thickness of this is about 2.75/3" counting both.

However the front coil over spacer is about 1/2" thick and the upper coil spacer was about a 1" thick block.

When measuring from the level floor in the garage the rear fenders are 1 1/8 higher than the front - or essentially exactly the same as from the factory right?

What am I missing here guys? It seems to me like the front spacers should equate roughly to 2.5" - probably 1.5" on the upper and a 1" lower coil over spacer and the rear should have been a total height of 2" with 1.5" being the main block thickness to equate to a 2.5" front and 1.5" rear.

It seems to me this "system" is reversed and is essentially just a lift, not a level. It doesn't look bad but I am worried about the clearance of the new wheels and tires with this setup.

Can anyone measure the stock height of your Yukon Denali real quick? Are you sitting about 1 1/8 higher in the rear? Help is greatly appreciated!

Here is a picture of the kit I received. As you can see, the rear is pretty thick. If you put the front lower coil over spacer and the upper spacer block together it is still about 1" less than the total thickness of the rear.

The front together is about 1.5" while the rear is about 2.5".



Edit: Ok I read up some more. The ratio of the front lift thickness (both spacers combined) will not be a 1:1 due to the lower A arm angle being changed. Still, I need some factory measurements. Something is still off. Thanks.

it has to do with the geometry of the front suspension, while the front kit doesn't stack up to measure 2.5" high the overall effect on the suspension should lift it that much ~roughly~.

typically what i have seen (with the NNBS) is a 2.5" front 1" rear will give u a lifted/leveled stance, where 2.5" front 1.5" rear will give u a lifted stance with some rake (usually still less rake than stock)

I am curious about this, too. Personally, I would much rather have the back higher than the front rather than the other way around. I just placed my order today for a Denali XL. If level, will the tail hang low if the rear is heavily loaded? I assume there is an auto level for trailer inc, etc?

Have you driven with the new lift installed? Any problems with the magnetic ride?

I'd love to see pics...
