ya i didn't read the first post very well. didn't see that you are going to run different wheels. i have mine on factory wheels with no issues. i had a 16x8 wheel with some offset and trimmed a little and cranked too much with rubbing issues. i couldn't deal with it so i just gave the wheels back. good luck.

The 285's will fit fine, but not on those 16x10's.

As you see by the post by Landchipper (great job, btw!), the 285's aren't meant to be run on a rim more than 9" wide, the beads may/may not seat right.

I've got my 285/75/16 Yokohama's (a full 33" from the factory, BTW) on some 16x8 MB Blitz wheels, with a 25mm positive offset, and they rubbed, even after cranking my torsion bars a good 2". I maxed them out (about 2 1/2"), hammered the trailing edge of the fenders in, and cut my front bumper and lower valance for clearance. No rub.

If you use a 16x8 wheel with a factory offset (-6mm), the 285's will fit, and won't rub on the control arm, either. I think 305/70/16's might fit as well, if you want the wider tire. But 16x10's, not without some sheetmetal work.

Can you exchange the 16x10's for 16x8's?

well with your rubbing, do you have any lift on your truck? i have that leveling kit.

heres the thing, i had 20x10 inch wheels on there before. now i know i am down to a 16x10 now with mud tires. where i am getting at is if i had 20x10 on there should a 16x10 fit with no turning problems? my 20's never rubbed at all.

with the correct backspacing you could probably fit them. What is the backspacing on the 16s and what was it on the 20s?

so i got my 16x10 wheels with a -25mm offset on my 4 door 99 tahoe. i put on them 33x11.5 toyo open country m/t's. had to do very little trimming. bent in the front bumper so i didn't have to trim it and trimmed the rear just a little on my flare. it looks good but now i want a suspension lift.

If and when you start looking for a lift...think at least 6" or the same thing will happen again. Get a 4" and you will want more. I am taller than most 6" kits and I think it looks stock height.

what size tires did you have on the 20's? were they about 33" tall? what backspacing did they have/ how far past OEM did they stick out?
