Wondering which companies if any will insure our trucks? I called my company to "up" the stated amount of my truck after all the work i've done (cover me if it gets totaled or stolen) and they told me that they do not insure anything above a 4" lift.

Any ideas?

That's a good question. Most places will do a dollar amount so long as you have receipts for everything. You may have to re-classify the vehicle (something like special use/show) to get special coverage.

The person I talked to pretty much said that because I told them (in a round about way) that I had a 6" lift that they would no longer cover me.

They also said, which is VERY IMPORTANT for other readers, that in the event of an accident, and if I had not told them I had a 6" lift installed prior, that 99% of the time the adjuster will choose not to cover me for my cars value. Something about undeclared changes/modifications.

Ridiculous I know, but i'm almost glad I made that call.

Now off to find new insurance.

And just for the record, I have one of the top insurance companies in the country. Maybe the biggest. Not going to throw out names or point fingers, but it may be worth an anonymous call to your own insurance company to find out if they will cover you in an accident if you're lifted over 4"...

Curious to know who you have insurance under.

I've had USAA, and GEICO and they've had no issues insuring my add-ons. I know that Progressive and State Farm also have no issues insuring above and beyond.

The last two on your list will not insure a vehicle lifted above 4". I've been with one of them for 10 yrs+ and they are dropping me.

It may also be state dependent...Insurance Companies actually have different coverage based on the state.

Not sure if this is the case with lifted vehicles, but it might be worth checking out.
