Thankfully deer aren’t so much of a concern here in big bear. We certainly see them on occasion but every time I’ve come across one going up or down the mountain it’s been well ahead of me and I’ve had plenty of time to avoid it. So a bull bar for me would be a bit unnecessary.

Did you end up installing a light bar? I'm debating a pair of 12" amber bars behind the grill since I seem to end up on dirt roads out in the back end of Temecula wine country fairly often and even the high beams at moderate speeds don't throw enough light to catch all the ruts and dips I run across.

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on anything.

I'm looking for a thin light bar to fit in this useless area between the tow hocks.
I prefer a tinted glass so it doesn't stand out. But bright. ( 20" x 2" )

I wrote in this topic, just Rigid 20 inches and there are such sizes 20*2

I'm still shopping and debating as well, I just came across the Iron Bull steel bumpers for our trucks. $1,500 is pretty expensive, but they have options for a pre-cut opening for fog lights, a light bar, a winch, etc.

After doing some reading apparently Iron Bull has quality issues and customer service issues up the *****, Hammerhead Armor has a steel bumper as well (cheaper from vendors than direct it seems).

I had a friend caution me about how/where I added lights. He said some of the places I was considering make for an awful racket when going down the freeway.

I assume the standard hood mounted pod setup creates considerable wind noise, I'm looking for a fog light solution for my mountain drives and something along the lines of a smaller pair of light bars behind the grill for off-road driving at night so there shouldn't be much change in wind disturbance/air noise.

Will do, the bumper is a wishlist item for now, at this point I'm looking at some inexpensive NiLight 12" lightbars to mount between the grill and the active louvers. They're pretty well rated so the main hangup is the ongoing debate between a standard white lightbar and going with amber lights to cut through the dust.
