Anyone have an idea how to replace said sensor? My lights / nav screen are doing the same thing in the denali. One trip they could stay on in bright sunlight, the other they may be off. Probably about 50/50% here too.
Any help is appreciated. For under $20 i'll order it asap as long as I don't have to remove the dash or anything crazy to replace it.

Thanks for the link Ryan.
And Mike it should not be very hard. If I remember right the sensor is on a part of the dash that pops off. The forward part that is closest to the windshield. So basically one should only have to pop that part off, unplug the sensor, pop the new sensor in, plug the harness back in the sensor, and put that small but long dash piece back on.

And Ryan let me know how yours goes before I spend the $13. Just in case mine is normal lag that I just happened to notice.

Does anyone know how to pop that dash piece off? I haven’t messed with mine yet, but do you just pull it up and off? Is there any 'trick' to getting it off?

Any updates on this? Did you get the part yet and was that the reason the lights were staying on?
Thanks

In the brush near the river.
To fully remove the panel that the sensor is mounted to, remove your A-Pillars. The clips that hold the panel down are located on passenger compartment side of the panel (the edge closest to the driver). They just pop off with a little pressure.

If my headlights are on my nav is dark, and sometimes headlights can be off and my nav will be on dark mode, if nav is in day mode my headlights are off...idk how to explain it because it doesn't happen all the time.

I have seen the same thing happening on my Yukon as well, I can't find a way to reproduce it and when I took it into the dealer, obviously they can't reproduce and therefore can't really fix the problem. I know the feeling of how annoying it is to drive around on a bright day light and can't see a damn thing on the nav because everything is black. You would have to put you face directly in front of the nav to basically see the shade of what's on the screen. Let me know if you made any progress by changing out the sensor.

I will be sure and update this thread as soon as I get the part...usps has really screwed up the delievery...the ebay seller shipped the day after I bought it so I can't blame him. USPS is the culprit they haven't updated tracking since after the third day of having it, which is nothing unusual that I have seen from the post office :(
