I don't have rear brake lights, or turn signals. I took out the tail lights and noticed the previous owner had taken out the reverse bulbs. I put a bulb in and they stayed on despite not being in reverse. Still no brake or turn signals. The third brake light is the only one that works. The contacts on the drivers side looks charred, so I ordered a circuit board for both sides just in case. If one circuit board is faulty would that make the other be out? Would a bad circuit board cause the reverse lights to stay on? Does it sound like I'm on the right path? Thanks

Along with the circuit boards, look for the ground wires going from the tail lights, one might not be on tight or broken.

I ended up replacing the circuit boards and thought they were working. They aren't. When the headlights are on the drivers side brake light, third brake light come one when the brakes are hit. The passenger brake light goes out. All of them seem to work when the headlight switch is off. The passenger reverse light also stays lit when the headlight switch is on. Could it be the brake light switch at the pedal, or with all this going on is it probably something else?

I read somwhere about a multi function switch in the steering colum that controls all the above lights. If I find thread I will post for you of maybe someone else already knows.

There is a trailer harness that has a lot of excess wire.

What most likely happened was some toothless hillbilly got er done real quick one nite before trucking his trailer full of moonshine across the state line ... trace it and fix or pull it completely and see if it helps. Someone put one in my truck before I got it and it was hacked up something fierce.
