I literally limped into the shop, motor was running rougher than anything I've ever heard... guy told me my spark plug wires were arcing, wires aren't more than a year old, but anyway.

Now, he tells me that the truck is dumping raw fuel, and I need a fuel spider. I know the spiders on these things were kind of horrible off the bat, but he tells me a re manufactured unit (with regulator, etc), is $300, and it's another (3) hours work.

What is the injector that I should get? It's a '99 2 Door, 4WD, 5.7. I recall there being a link to Amazon awhile back, am looking for it but can't find it. Would MPI be the way to go? Is that different than the one that was linked on Amazon?

Guy sounds honest, but this crap absolutely sucks.. I just put $1k into this thing when the rear tire cylinders both blew, and took out a bunch of stuff with them. Now, I'm in the hole for another $900. And, this is a truck I was going to sell. I can't afford to sell it at this point. This sucks man, I love my truck, enough to dump the money into it. But, I was hoping to put a downpayment on a newer Tahoe.

Dammit.

UPDATE: Finally found that thread... Links to Amazon, it's a few years old, so the price has gone up to $317. HOWEVER, I found the same thing on Ebay now for $274, and it ships out of CT, which is nice and close to me here in NY. Here is the link in case anyone needs it! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Delphi-FJ10...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item1e89a812cd

I would go with the updated assembly you found. I just ordered mine off Amazon for a little over $300

Hey, thanks for the response.. And, so it comes with everything I'd need, right? It'll fit right into my existing setup (stock 5.7l)?

It should, the only thing you may need is the bracket that holds the unit in the manifold if you were to break it.

Mine came with gaskets and the bracket to install. Just make sure to lube the o rings on injectors and make sure they are fully seated.
