Leave it, i love the look. Put one on my '01 so dont let anyone tell you it wont fit. There are no clips in the factory valence under the metal part of the bumper so i drilled some holes where it's supposed to clip on and tywrapped it on, lasted forever until a 2x12 fell out of the pickup in front of me and smashed it. Thank god thats the only thing that got ****** up. My wife went to chevy to get me a new one and they told her, almost yelled at her, it doesnt fit on tgat year its impossible he has it on there.....i ordered one from some cheap auto parts place online and did the same with tywraps, drove to the chevy dealer and told the parts guy A#1 dont ever talk to my wife like that again or ill smash your face in and B#2 come look at the truck that the lower valence dont fit on ya *******....
Ill post pic of the tywrapped part when i get home from vaca...

Put one on my 03 also. Fits just fine. Used self tapping screws to hold it on.

When the part guy tells you it doesn't fit ask him which lower valance fits what models. It will show all the same number for all years 00-06. Then ask why wouldn't it fit a 02 Mr parts guy lol.
