So knowing that on her best day downhill with the wind I may squeeze out about 350 miles a tank, and under heavy towing around town that could be less than 200 miles a tank, I'm thinking about a larger fuel tank.

I didn't see any commercially available ones for the smaller Yukon, although the suburbans and XL's seem to have a pretty good market for them.

Anyone have a larger tank? I was thinking about fabbing one up out of 3/16" sheet, that would hang about 2 1/2" lower than the stock tank and fill in the corners and gaps. Anyone done this? Opinions?

I wonder if the lack of auxiliary fuel tanks for the Tahoe/Yukon platform is simply due to a lack of room available under the truck.

Also, you don't see many folks using these trucks to cross Africa, Australia, or the arctic, so I imagine the demand just isn't there for your local soccer mom to carry 80 gallons of gas to and from the grocery store.

I would love to have a 40 or 50 gallon tank in my truck. I drive too much and hate stopping for gas all the time.

I really don't have a need for more than my 32 gallon... but your shorties aren't that big. You could remove the spare and add another one there
